4-6 ripe avocados (depending on size)
1/4 cup thinly sliced grape or cherry tomatoes (or mango)
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion, rinsed and well-drained)
1 jalapeño or serrano pepper, seeds removed and finely chopped
1 tablespoon coarsely chopped cilantro, or to taste
2 cloves garlic, pressed or finely chopped
Juice of one half lime
1/2 teaspoon each cumin and chili powder (or to taste)
Salt and pepper, to taste


Combine all the ingredients except the avocados, salt and pepper for a half hour or so to allow flavors to meld. Mash the avocados with a fork leaving some whole chunks of avocado, then gently fold in the other ingredients.

Serve immediately.
